Gin Rebel
Gin RebelBack to top

Released 2007, LTF 1-2

Crossing more of your country and many others

Technology, like everything else, trickles downhill. However, at Gin Gliders, it flows uphill too. The new LTF 2 Rebel is a testament to this. This new performance glider incorporates the performance technology from the world famous Boomerang competition gliders to the proven safety features of the Bolero series and everything in-between. The result? A glider that truly makes flying cross country easier, safer and more stress free.

The shape and design concept

With an aspect ratio of 5.55, a high number of cells (62) and reduced total line lengths gives the Rebel its high performance.
An optimized trimming of the sail and profiles helps to obtain a well coordinated, homogeneous and secure feeling for a glider of this performance level. The design objective for the Rebel was to create a performance XC glider with state of the art components (high arc, partial diagonals, efficient planform and the Kick Down speed system) with a high level of performance that is also easy to use. High technology, high performance and a high degree of passive safety.

What exactly does "High Performance" mean? A good climb rate; an excellent sink rate; a glider that penetrates easily into a headwind; easily cuts through turbulence; stability and efficiency at trim speed; and a speed system that is easy to push, efficient and safe to use. That’s performance!

Flight characteristics
When flying the Rebel, you will feel confident in all flight conditions.
The inflation is progressive, easy, stable in pitch and won’t over-shoot the pilot even in strong wind.
When flying cross country we often encounter turbulent patches of air. The Rebel will help you to get through that effortlessly. The wing penetrates through turbulence and the most difficult conditions without a hitch. This type of performance and security will enable you to go further, to concentrate on your next move and not worry about managing the glider. The legendary Gin Gliders direct handling is precise in the thermals and allows you to center up on the core with a minimum of brake action allowing you to achieve the fastest and most efficient climbs.

Philosophy
The Rebel was designed for the pilot that wants to lead out and go further that they ever have before. To go to those places they never have and be confident in doing so. The learning curve on the Rebel is minimal and will have you flying XC quickly. The Rebel is the glider that will expand your horizons and your flights. Once you fly the Rebel, your passion for cross country and flying in general will boost you to a new level.

Finally a real XC Wing for everyone!
An XC glider that’s user friendly.
Easy inflation in all conditions, easy ground handling and a quick take off.
In flight the pilot and the Rebel quickly become one: from the first turns in thermals, the feel of the glider is intuitive; handling weightshift and the brakes to carve the perfect turn quickly becomes second nature.
The Kick Down speed system
100% Skytex 9092 on the topsail for the best durability and Skytex 9017 on the rest of the glider to reduce weight.
All 5 sizes are certified DHV 2. 5 sizes makes it easy to fit each pilot perfectly.

Gin Rebel Race
Gin Rebel RaceBack to top

The lightweight race version of the Rebel, our successful cross-country glider, is ready and certified LTF 2*.

The Rebel Race offers more performance and more precise handling than the standard Rebel, yet it maintains the same level of security and ease-of-use.

The Rebel Race features not only thinner lines, but also competition risers. It is made with lighter materials suited to a cross-country glider-not the lightest available, but ones which we believe offer the optimum compromise between light weight, performance and durability.

These lighter materials improve the performance of the wing in several areas: trim speed, glide ratio, climb rate and headwind penetration. At the same time, the handling is more precise and the glider offers a well coordinated, homogenous and secure feeling for such a high level of performance. The Rebel Race is truly a competitive cross-country machine with no stress.

>>> Rebel Sizes: XS, S, M & L
>>> Rebel Colours: Pistachio, Smoke, Apricot & X-Alps

* LTF 2 certification for S, M and L. The XS is EN certified.

Gradient Aspen 2
Gradient Aspen 2Back to top

Gradient have a hard act to follow in the original Aspen but we are pleased to announce the imminent arrival of the Aspen 2, and it looks good....very good! It must have been a difficult task to improve on a design that has been a world leader in the DHV2 class but Gradient claim significant improvement in several parameters.

The development has resulted in an improved sink rate and glide angle at normal speeds while retaining the agility and high top speed of the original. Feedback from the test team says the new Aspen 2 proves even easier to pilot with a slightly more "direct" feel to the breaks and more resistant to turbulence.

The market point is the same... recommended to all competent pilots who want a high performance glider on which to really enjoy their flying; whatever their style.

Specifications:
Optimised shape and area of cell openings.
Excellent take off behaviour.
Unique handling when thermaling.
Exceptional glide performance.
High speed range.
High stability in turbulence.
A new four-riser speed system enhances Aspens very good behaviour in accelerated flight.
A two-level line concept with progressive diameters gives the lowest possible drag.
Sizes: 22 (65-75kg), 24 (75-85kg), 26 (80-100kg), 28 (90-115kg), 30 (100-130kg).

Gradient Avax XC2
Gradient Avax XC2Back to top

At last it is here, Avax XC2 the new Gradient high performance XC-machine!

It is a long time since Gradient has offered a high performance serial class paraglider but now Gradient is sure that the Avax XC2 has the right combination of performance, security and handling to deliver that Gradient feeling in the certified high performance category.

Our big surprise is that the certification checked out as EN-C which is remarkably good for a glider delivering such high performance and nimble handling. In terms of performance the Avax XC2 is a clear step up from our Aspen2 and although both wings can be considered in the Sports Class, the Avax XC2 is definitely an Avax and requires somewhat more technical piloting compared to the oh-so-sweet-and-easy Aspen2. If you are puzzled about just where the Avax XC2 stands in the pilot spectrum, consider the Avax XC2 as a high performance wing: fast, with an excellent glide but with the added bonus of a seriously good certification rating.

Avax XC2 Characteristics

Efficient and responsive in thermals.
Great glide performance.
Wide speed range.
Direct and agile handling.
Fast and stable when accelerated.
EN-C.

Skywalk Cayenne 2
Skywalk Cayenne 2Back to top

High performance, packed in a DHV 2 glider with sufficient safety margins, combined with truly arousing handling: the CAYENNE2 makes it happen:

To significantly improve a good glider is part luck.
We have been lucky!
This is not a joke. To improve a glider that is already a success in all aspects is a tough job. Thanks to development software, specially programmed for skywalk, and numerous features copied from race carver POISON, this ambitious goal has been realized after all.

For example, the quality of the C2 canopy is phenomenal, which translates into pure performance.

Advance Sigma 7
Advance Sigma 7Back to top

The SIGMA 7 Pilot

The SIGMA 7 is a high performance intermediate that suits the experienced thermal pilot who has, at least, already made his first cross country flights, and who possesses a good feeling for a glider. He has an active flying style, can recognise and prevent the onset of trouble, and has no problem with fast descent techniques. If these conditions are met the performance potential of this glider can be realised, and the pilot cover the countryside feeling safe and relaxed.

Outstanding characteristics

High canopy stability

A well-defined max-lift point on the wing profile and optimal internal pressure characterise the SIGMA 7. These make the glider distinctly more stable and also mean that it can be flown faster in turbulent air. This puts it wholeheartedly within the trend for faster transiting, that is becoming ever more popular with recreational cross country pilots.

The best speed bar position with SPI
The very stable profile, set up for the best speed, responds precisely to speed bar inputs. Accelerator movement is exactly tuned for all levels to make sure that the profile shape is completely retained at all times. In combination with the Speed-Performance-Indicator (SPI) this allows you to achieve a markedly higher average speed en route.
Precise and direct handling
The SIGMA 7 has direct and pleasant handling with low brake loads. This provides precise turn entry, makes progressive radius adjustment possible at all bank angles, and gives you effortless flying. The balance of profile and twist give the required thermal bite.

Other important details

Narrow risers with a 2 stage accelerate system
The SIGMA 7 speed system has an adjustable ratio change. The length of the travel and its loading can be set to suit the pilot’s leg length and leg position: an initial easy-to-push 3:1 ratio while the legs are bent; then an efficient 2:1 ratio with legs straight.

Hybrid lines
A combination of line types gives the SIGMA 7 durability and good performance. The lower lines are sheathed to protect them from wear and tear. The middle and upper gallery lines are uncovered, for less drag and therefore better performance. The compact braiding and extra coating of the yarns of the Liros-Competition lines significantly improves resistance to UV radiation and abrasion. The loops at the line ends are sheathed, to reduce surface pressure and wear.

ADVANCE STANDARDS
ADVANCE pays great attention to small details.

Certification
The SIGMA 7 has been awarded LTF 2 and EN certification for all sizes in both unaccelerated and accelerated flight.
