All the theory and practical maneuvres are dealt with by video sequencing or 2D/3D animation giving attractive, practical and complete instructions.

This is the ideal complement to your paragliding training gained in school.

It has chapters on equipment, flying, launching, aerodynamics, meteorology and airlaw plus bonus features Russel Ogden (2005 British champ) interview, documentary on Ozone wing developement and advice for beginners.

Running time 109 mins, PAL format.

Our in-house reviewer, Chris Pepper says:

Simply put, this is a practical training course in the form of DVD. Everything covered out on the hill and most of the classroom learning is on here. It's straight forward to follow and segmented for easy access to your desired topic. This would be great as a 're-cap' tool after a day on the hill, and if I had a copy whilst learning I'm sure the whole process would have been quicker. I'd highly recommend this to any one signing up for anything more than just one or two day taster courses.

Ground Handling Techniques DVD
Ground Handling Techniques DVD Back to top

Ground Handling Techniques DVD
From the team that brought ‘Paragliding: Learning to Fly’, arguably the best tuitional flying DVD for new pilots currently available, comes an in-depth and up-to-date study of the black art of ground handling.
Why bother messing around on the ground when all you want to do it fly? Well, unfortunately poor ground handling skills account for a high percentage of the accidents we see today. Mastering your wing on the ground gives you the confidence to handle yourself on tricky take offs in difficult conditions. The result is you’ll be a safer pilot who’ll fly more often that those who struggle to control their wings on the deck.
This DVD not only breaks down each exact aspect of launching and ground handling it also incorporates a series of exercises to hone you skills.
Ground Handling uses the same 3D animations that make ‘Paragliding: Learning to Fly’ such a fantastic learning tool. Between the two DVD’s you have possibly the most comprehensive learning tool available to the new pilot today.

English and French languages, PAL version only. This DVD will not work in North American DVD players

Nova Dynamic Decisions
Nova Dynamic Decisions Back to top

NEW PARAGLIDING FILM FROM NOVA
Hannes Papesh, head of construction at NOVA, explains: "Our main intention was to show the different reactions of a paraglider with DHV Gütesiegel class 1-2 (old), class 1-2 (new) and class 2 to the most dangerous manoeuvres: Asymmetric Collapse, Frontstall and Spiral? Those are the major reasons for severe accidents. Finally, we want to demonstrate clearly what it means to say that the pilot and the paraglider must fit together perfectly."

Cameraman Chris Boyes, originally from England, but now living in Tyrol, where he is able to persecute his paragliding passion more intensely, has taken gripping shots of these manoeuvres. The NOVA test pilots Toni Bender, Mario Eder and Walter Holzmüller have given their absolute best to demonstrate
- How the different paragliders react with the pilot being totally passive.
- What happens if the pilot does the wrong thing.
- And what happens if the pilot reacts correctly.
All is supervised and commented by DHV safety specialist Karl Slezak.
